Make the moment of asking your friends to be your bridesmaids special, with handcrafted cards and gift bracelets, made with love, by you.
You will need a blank card and an envelope (approx. 12cm wide), a heart pendant of your choice and an elastic cord.
You will also need white card and printer. The template for the label that reads “will you be my bridesmaid” can be downloaded here: will you be my bridesmaid – template. If you do not own a printer, you could hand-write the words “will you be my bridesmaid” on plain white card instead.
We will be using a round white label stamped with a mini heart to seal the envelope. If you are using your own craft supplies, you could draw a heart on a small round label.
STEP 1
Pull elastic silver cord through the loop in the upper part of a metallic heart pendant with filigree detailing.
Slide the pendant to the middle of the cord. Then, fold the cord in half.
STEP 2
Measure 7.5cm from the centre of the bracelet for a standard size bracelet. If the bracelet is for a lady who is petite or plus-size, adjust the size as needed.
STEP 3
Tie a double knot at the end of the 7.5cm segment. Make the knot as tight as possible.
STEP 4
Trim the cord, using scissors.
Next, we will make the card.
STEP 5
Measure 3cm from the fold. Draw a line 1cm long, parallel with the fold.
STEP 6
Repeat on the other side.
STEP 7
Next, draw a triangle. Join the end of the line with points 5mm from where the line meets the edge of the card.
STEP 8
Cut along the lines, using scissors.
Repeat on the other side.
STEP 9
Insert the bracelet into the triangular slots.
STEP 10
Cut out the “will you be my bridesmaid?” label.
If you are not using our DIY craft pack and don’t own a printer, cut out a rectangle (approx. 8x3cm) and write “will you be my bridesmaid?” on it.
STEP 11
Write your bridesmaid’s name on top.
STEP 12
Apply glue over the back of the label.
STEP 13
Glue the label onto the card, as shown on the photo.
STEP 14
Write a message inside the card and place the card into a matching envelope.
STEP 15
Seal the envelope with the label provided.
If you are not using our DIY craft pack, draw a heart on a round label 2cm wide.
Did you enjoy making the card?
Feel free to comment below, we would love whether your bridesmaids liked the card.
And good luck with all your wedding preparations, we wish you lots of happiness.
I was looking at buying some of these today but I much prefer the idea of making them.
