Welcome to a guest blog post by Learning Jewellery. Wedding planning, in a way, is set into motion by the groom. Traditionally, it is he who has the task of getting on one knee. Some gentlemen do so simply, with a carefully selected ring and a profession of love everlasting. Some make an event out of it and might even organise a crowd of singers joining in, turning a seemingly mundane moment into an unforgettable party.
And of course, there are ladies who decide that they are up to the task themselves and they propose to the man of their dream, either during a leap year, or at any other time.
Music can make life events magical and songs often play an important role during proposals.
But which song to choose?

Niraj Naik (nirajnaik.com) , a holistic healing expert commented: “Not all music is going to help create a feeling of love, just the music you resonate with. Music has a measurable physiological effect based on whether you resonate with it or not and music that resonates with you has the ability to light up all areas of your brain and boost low alpha brain waves associated with optimum cognitive function.”

Composing a Song
If listening to one of the latest hits during the proposal does not seem like the best way of impressing the love of your life, how about composing your own song? Or maybe a poem?
If you are the one who will be proposting, you could ask your friends to help you write a song or adapt the lyrics of an existing song.
The lyrics could be personalised to let your fiance(e) know how much they mean to you. You could also refer to any special moments you shared together so far or sing about your future as a happy couple.
Vintage Proposal Songs
If none of the latest hits or a customised song resonate with you, how about a vintage song? “Devoted to You” by Everly Brothers is a great example of an everlasting hit from the 50s. Our other favourites are “You belong to me” by Dean Martin, “That’s Amore” also by Dean Martin, “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra and “Be My Love” by Mario Lanza. There is no shortage of love songs composed during the era from 1920s to 1990s so whichever era is your favourite, you should find a heart-warming vintage love song easily enough.
