Terri, tell us more about you and your business.

I’ve worked in hospitality and customer service for many years, in busy department stores and even busier bars and restaurants. I’ve always gravitated to jobs where people are at the centre of things, and I genuinely love to make people smile.

For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to do something artistic, involving design and colour, and I began teaching myself graphic design way back in 2015. You could say Too Printy has been five years in the making! I design and sell wall art, personalised wedding planners and have just recently added greeting cards to my page.


How did you come up with the idea of designing a wedding planner?

My idea for the wedding planner originally started when I was looking for something to make for my best friend. She was pregnant with her little boy and I wanted a special keepsake I could give her as a gift for her baby shower.

The idea evolved over time into the planner I sell now, and I wanted it to be a truly personal book that would become a record of the bride’s entire journey to her big day.


Do you sell mainly via Facebook? What are the advantages of selling via social media?

I sell via my Facebook and Instagram pages. I find the main advantage of these platforms is that you can build a relationship with your customers. I chat regularly throughout the day to the people that engage with my posts, and I consider many of them to now be friends. It amazes me how many of these lovely people have now become customers! I believe actively taking the time to build a community around your business not only builds friendships and business connections, but a loyal fan base as well. I have other businesses who are cheerleaders for me, and I’m equally as supportive of them.


What do you think is most important when it comes to customer service?

Nowadays it’s a fact that excellent customer service can be hard to find. Having worked for some fantastic companies in my time, going the extra mile for people comes as naturally to me as breathing. There is no one size fits all approach, and customers need to be treated as individuals, with respect and kindness! It is of the utmost importance to me that my products are high quality, fairly priced and consistent, and I will go out of my way to make sure my customers feel valued.


Which of your printed signs make a nice wedding gift?

I have several prints in my Grace Collection which I feel would make the perfect wedding gift. The Him and Her trio and Love Letters print, which is fully personalised, would be ideal for a couples new home.


Is there any funny business story you can share with our readers?

I work from my home office, and I take all my own product photographs. This can be particularly tricky when my little business mascot gets involved. Her name is Snowy and she is our sassy little family cat, who is particularly fond of having her picture taken. I can be in the middle of taking photos, with everything set up just right and how I need it, and she will spring up into the middle of everything and strike a pose! It is very funny, but also highly inconvenient when I’m super busy. She features heavily on my Facebook page, and is really quite photogenic, and cute when she wants to

    Building connections matters a lot for gaining quality customers. Then you have word of mouth too, when they buy and love your products and that is also important. A wedding planner is always a wonderful keepsake.
